John B. Nash has co-written the script for an independent horror/dark fantasy film entitled "Carnies". You can check it out here http://www.carniesmovie.com/. He usually writes short stories, mainly within the speculative fiction, dark fiction or fantastique genres, and occasionally dares to venture into the realm of poetry -- usually after seeing a documentary about one of his idols, the great Allen Ginsberg. He claims not to be at all zombified or in lament over anything in particular, though one never really knows with him. He is rather strange.
I'm feeling zombified
Lost in terror
Petrified
The world I know unsanctified
The very essence of my being fortified
only by the night
The deep dark hate, the tranquil grace
of dead dreams and life no longer known
God, I feel zombified
A mass of nothing...
Being or not...
Who cares? -- Sartre maybe; no one likely
Not a Priest, not a human
I am lost, long past their doing
For I am zombified
Undead, yet dead, forlorn transgressor of the light
I am neither beast nor soul
Necrotic but knowing
Brain dead, longing with eyes that stare
A blank visage before me
Everybody no longer cares
I am zombified
A corpse without burial, a soul without a home
My life is barely known
Lost to all but the unseeing who roam
the night... dusk to dawn...
Rest in peace. Hah! I was never truly born.
